April 2023

Little Linc

April was a special month at Little Linc Preschool as we celebrated Easter together.  The teachers focused on making the stories of Holy Week come alive for the children.  From riding on a "donkey" to tasting the foods from the Last Supper, the preschoolers gained new understandings about Christ's death and resurrection.  We experienced the sadness of Jesus's death on the cross and wonderful joy when He rose again.  Please pray with us that our preschool children will truly grasp the depth of God's love for them and choose to follow Him all of their lives!

We hosted a Preschool Community Night in April for all of our families.  First we served the preschool through pulling weeds, picking up sticks, and deep cleaning the classrooms.  Afterwards, the parents, children, and staff enjoyed a pizza dinner and a time of fellowship.  It was sweet to give the parents time to get to know each other better.  Parenting is hard, and we love to make connections between parents so they can support each other.  We are thankful for the prayers and financial support that allow us the privilege of building relationships with our preschool families and pointing them to Jesus!

Lincoln Academy

Our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students had a blast at the Cook Museum of Natural Science!  The students viewed animals in their habitats, looked at crystals, and used different scientific tools to observe bugs and beetles.  The most exciting event of the day was dissecting squid!

The 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students celebrated Earth Day by completing several fun activities. They created solar ovens to make S'mores, made water wheels, and planted grass in recycled water bottles.

Two of our teachers helped their students make resurrection rolls. Ms. Bodin shared that “the wonder in their eyes and the connection in their hearts as the kindergarteners and middle schoolers made resurrection rolls was precious. They used spices (cinnamon/sugar) to prepare Jesus’ body (the marshmallow) for burial. They put Him in the tomb (crescent roll) and then waited for three days (baking time). When they went back to the tomb, IT WAS EMPTY!

After a beautiful time of sharing the true meaning of Easter, that Jesus died for us, was buried for us, and rose from the grave for us, we shared the enJOYment of eating yummy resurrection rolls.”

The application window for fall 2023 enrollment has officially closed.  At this time, we are processing paperwork and beginning our parent/student interviews. We are excited to invite our new students and families to join us in the fall!

Volunteer Highlights

First established at The University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2011, The BIG Event is an annual tradition of engaging in community service in the greater Huntsville community. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and numerous other members of the Charger community rally together and serve throughout Huntsville and Madison County. This year, 20 members of the UAH community joined us on a SERVING Saturday to help lay sod and clean up demolition materials in Lincoln North. We are grateful that these students would dedicate their Saturday morning to be a part of all that God is doing in Lincoln Village.

We were honored to be joined by Vantage Leadership Initiative during a recent SERVING Saturday. Thank you so much for your hard work!

We host SERVING Saturday every Saturday morning from 8am - 11am, excluding holiday weekends, where we take part in all types of projects throughout campus. For more information about how you could get involved, please contact Janah Baker.
