September 2022

Lincoln Academy

September is a very busy month at the Academy! All of the students are settling in for the school year. It’s been wonderful to come back together!

September 10 we had a Fall festival for our students and neighborhood! This was the first event since Covid struck where ALL of Lincoln Village Ministries families were invited to be together! It was a big success! God’s faithfulness brought help from places I would not have even looked! Mullins Special Occasions and All 4 Fun rentals supplied excitement through activities and Hopetown Church fed our bodies and souls with a wonderful meal and the sharing of God’s word! Of course, I can not overlook all of the help the ministry provided! What was the day’s biggest hit? Face Painting!! Check out some of the beautiful Designs!

We are looking forward to more fun get-togethers and an exciting month!

Little Linc

Little Linc Preschool has had a wonderful start to the school year!  One of our favorite parts of the preschool day is "tray time." Inspired by the Montessori Method, our teachers provide engaging, independent activities to give the children experience with math, literacy, fine motor, and practical life skills.  The children love having the independence to move around the classroom and choose their own work.  Every tray is a good choice, but we are training the children to finish the work they begin.  The teachers work one on one with each child to complete and check their work.  With new activities every month, the children stay engaged with their tray work.  Enjoy the pictures of our preschoolers working hard and having fun!

Thank you for your prayers for our teachers and students! Please pray for the health of our students and teachers.  Also, we are sending home Bible bags with our students this week.  Please pray for the Lord to encourage our preschool parents to read the Bible at home to their children!

Ambassadors

The new class of Ambassadors had their first meeting August 23 and there were 52 in attendance! It was a powerful meeting with Mark sharing his testimony, Lakshmi giving a brief overview, and the Ambassadors voting on 2 group projects they want to undertake: bringing fresh fruit weekly to Learning Lab and coordinating/hosting Lincoln North community events once a month.

Staff Retreat

On Sunday, September 18th, our staff was treated to a wonderful retreat at The Refuge. The mission at the Refuge is “Rest. Reconnect. Restore.” We were truly blessed with a day full of restful and glorious worship and testimonies, reconnection through team building, and food to restore our bodies and our souls. Members of our leadership team, Lakshmi, Janah, Jess, Casey and Jill did a fabulous job of organizing and coordinating a truly special day!

We are thankful to the May family who graciously donated this beautiful property for our directors to spend Saturday night and our entire staff on Sunday for fun and fellowship.

We Are Hiring

We have immediate job openings available! Check out our website for more information and how to apply. www.lincolnvillage.org/employment

If employment with Lincoln Village isn't your next step, but you would still like to get involved, would you consider volunteering? This information is also available on our website. www.lincolnvillage.org/volunteer

Finally, we ask that all of you pray. Pray for the right people to come along to perfectly fill these open positions and volunteer roles. Thank you for all that you do to invest in Lincoln Village Ministry.

Many Thanks!

So many special people and groups that continue to support us! Some highlights:

Thanks to a committed, long time donor, 25% of our families are receiving Blessing Bags full of food for the weekends; bags are provided to any family who requests to be part of the program.

The Academy has a partnership with Cynthia Hart to provide hot lunches for our students two days a week.

The community is providing pizza for our students every Friday, and Chick-Fil-A will provide chicken sandwiches for everyone monthly.

Several residents applied for entry level IT positions with a LV ministry partner.   This company is working individually with our residents to help them navigate this new career field and take steps to “get their foot in the door”.

Ministry partners like I3 Cares, church small groups, and private donors have come together to provide essential furniture and household goods to our 2 new families who came to Lincoln with very little to set up a home.

Three families got to enjoy free VIP Trash Panda Tickets thanks to a generous ministry partner.   One resident said this was the highlight of her boys’ summer!

Melissa and Lee Weeks with Office Pride are generously supplying our building cleaning supplies! What a blessing!

So many more that have ordered from our Amazon Wish Lists and answered our pleas for water and other supplies!

We couldn’t do it without you all! Thank you!!

Come Celebrate With Us!
