New Spaces for New Faces

The combination of our Staff, faithful volunteers and Lee Builders continue to make progress in both the Village area (near Lincoln Academy) and in Lincoln North.

Within the next month, we hope to see 4 - 6 new residents moved into our Properties - along with two of our current residents relocating to houses that are more accommodating to their family’s needs.

In Lincoln North - we will be closing on another property on March 1st. While the demolition process gets underway - Lee Builders will continue the renovation process on three others. AND - once approval is granted - they will begin the construction of six new builds. These will be the first ground up NEW houses that Lincoln has undertaken. We are so excited.

Again - this progress is a combination of efforts from multiple people. From our famous “Old Guys” who have served for almost 18 years – to new groups and individuals that have just joined the work – we are grateful for the help.

We always have room for new workers. If you or your group would like to learn more - please contact us at Lincolnvillage.org-Get Involved.

Little Linc

We had a wonderful time celebrating Valentine's Day at Little Linc Preschool.  We invited all of our preschool parents to join us at drop off time to make a Valentine's Day card with their little one.  Open-ended projects like this craft morning are a great time for the parent to follow the child's lead and build trust in the parent/child relationship.  The children made crafts for parents and grandparents, and it was sweet to see several parents making cards for their preschooler.  Inviting parents into our Little Linc classrooms is one way we offer to get them involved in their child's school experience.  Our desire is to communicate to our preschool parents that they belong at school and have an important voice in their child's education.  We also love these opportunities to build relationships with our families.

Valentine's Day is a wonderful time to think about God's love for us.  1 John 4:8 tells us that God IS love.  God doesn't just love us....He is the source and creator of love.  We can only love because of the love of God.  His greatest expression of love is His son, Jesus.  1 John continues, "This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins."  Little Linc Preschool exists to share the love of God with our preschoolers and their families.  Please pray with us that these young hearts will be eternally impacted with God's "never stopping, never giving up, unbreaking, always and forever love" (from The Jesus Storybook Bible - our favorite to read at Little Linc!).

Lincoln Academy

We are preparing to begin accepting applications for new students in March.  The first step is for families to submit their 2022 taxes and any other forms that show income by March 31.   We use that information to determine eligibility for a scholarship.  If the student qualifies for a scholarship, then we move on to the school application process.   It will be a busy couple of months for us at Lincoln Academy!

Valentine's Day in an elementary school is always a special day! The students enjoyed showering their classmates and teachers with cards and goodies.  There were cookies, cupcakes, candy, and doughnuts in excess!

Our 4th-8th grade students continue to enjoy participating in the monthly 4-H meetings.  The fourth and fifth grade students recently participated in a Lego building contest.  They displayed their finished work in the media center and asked students, teachers, and staff to vote for the most original creation.  We had several winners.  Congratulations!

On February 15, we had a special guest at Wednesday Worship.  Dr. Mark Houts spoke to the students about Biblical creation. He reminded the students that we are all created in God's image and are all considered brothers and sisters in Christ! He was kind enough to bring easy readers for the students to enjoy!  We thank him for taking time from his busy schedule to come to speak to us.

Donor Spotlight

We are in awe of how God uses individuals and businesses alike to help support this ministry. Read a message from the owners of Sweet Pineapple, Gina and Travis Garrett, on 'Why They Give' to Lincoln Village...

"It’s an honor and privilege to support Lincoln Village Ministry through our local small business, Sweet Pineapple. We believe in stewarding our business wisely, and a large part of that means giving generously to organizations doing powerful work in our community. Lincoln Village Ministry meeting both physical and spiritual needs is not only impactful to our community, but most importantly, the Kingdom. Lincoln Village Ministry is a blessing to so many and a true joy to support in any way possible!"
