Old Ralph's as a PD substation

It'd be nice if Rancho PD would put a sub station in at the old
Ralph's store.  Then maybe someone like Trader Joe's, Borders,
Chevy's, etc. would be willing to take a chance on our neighborhood
& put a store in.

Speaking of Street Repairs

It is nice to see the efficient work being done on our neighborhood
streets, sidewalks and sewer connections.
While they are working on Meteor drive I hope they will notice and
repair the caved in section of the gutter in front of 9898 Meteor
drive.  It would be a simple repair as they are currently tearing out
large sections of sidewalk gutters etc. for improvements. This would
be a very small patch compared to all the work they are doing.

 Fights on the streets

Over the last few months my family and I have seen an increase in
the number of individuals hanging around the corner of Lincoln
Village and Viking.  It is the same group of individuals and all appear
to be drug dealers. A few weeks ago when driving by I noticed RCPD
arresting several of them.  Of course they were back to doing
"business" within 2-3 days.  Today, there were five men fighting on
Lincoln Village Drive using a 2x4 as a weapon against each other.

The loitering and the drug dealing has got to stop!!! Please RCPD
do something besides giving speeding tickets.  Lock the thugs up for
good!  I want to feel safe driving in my neighborhood.  Today a
2x4...tomorrow a GUN!

Traffic issue on Astral Dr.

We could use speed bumps on Astral Drive and Lincoln Village
Drive.  Both roads are used as a bypass for traffic.

My City Hall Website Works Well

I wanted to take a minute and thank the city for the My City Hall
Online website.  I am beyond impressed with how user friendly and
effective it is.  I use it to report any problems I see in our village such
as abandoned vehicles, inoperative street lights and piles of trash.
The code enforcement team responds incredibly fast and the quick
results inspire me to want to do more to improve our village.  Each
report I make is easily tracked on the My City Hall Website and the
officers such as Mr. Bob Stone are so eager to help.

I just want to let everyone know that they can really make a
difference fast by reporting problems on this website.  I encourage
everyone to try it and see how easy it is.  If we each just reported
one problem a week, we could make a huge impact on the
appearance of our neighborhoods.  Kudos to the city for creating
such a wonderful tool that fits right in with our busy lifestyles.
Thanks also to this LVNA website for providing a link to the city
website too.

Likes city focus on strong Neighborhoods

A lot of attention is now being paid to "quality of life issues" in
Rancho Cordova.
The city has begun its Blight Buster program to increase code
education and enforcement.
Our city council has set up a moratorium on certain types of new
businesses - pawn shops, check cashing stores, recycling centers,
smoke shops, thrift stores and tattoo parlors - until a review of codes
and zoning can be completed. This is a big first step in the reserving
the negative results that came from years of the county's (to be
nice) lackadaisical zoning for this area.
The recent appointment of Kerry Simpson as the Code Enforcement
Director has also been a positive step. She brings a wealth of
experience and a high level of energy to this critical position.
Lincoln Village under the city's care has already seen numerous
improvements in the last few years: repaving of neglected streets,
better traffic control, the demolition of a fire-trap, and a strong effort
to check nuisance businesses to name but a few positive changes.
If the new brand for Rancho Cordova is "City Life, Reinvented", then
a key element in that reinvention must continue to be improving the
quality of life for our residents. Strong neighborhoods are both a
cause and a result of this process.

                That was quick !

I have no doubt you've been dancing with glee over the demise of
the Bradshaw Inn. That was quick! I didn't expect anything to
happen for a few weeks, and to see it come down in two short days
was a pleasant surprise. One problem down, hopefully two more to
go!

Wants Drive-In Kept

I'm very concerned about them wanting to replace the drive-in on
Bradshaw Road. I take my children there I think it needs a little clean
up, but over all I think it's great. Could you please send me some
information, or is there something we can do to stop it. I'm sure if
more neighbors knew about this, they would get more involved.
